This is probably one of my favorite songs of all time, though it's also one guaranteed to make me cry. However, it didn't the last couple times I've listened to it so that's probably a good thing. I don't know why I felt like posting this, but the reason for posting is two-fold: a girl just came in to work and her name is Malarie. I am assuming it is pronounces like Mallory, but come on people, stop doing this to your kids. I wonder how many times she has been called 'Malaria Malarie' in her life.

I Should Be Working, But...
More quizzes! Not that many, just enough to pass the time until I decide to work on my portfolio. On the same note as this whole "portfolio" thing, I had my mid-semester evaluation today with my cooperating teacher and my site supervisor: I am awesome, just like I said before. This semester is going amazingly well, despite my little BD/DD children. In a few short weeks I start teaching completely on my own without Mrs. Rangel in the classroom, and I am ready to start NOW. I already talked to the principal too, and am going to be arranging a time for her to come in a observe. I also got a recommendation back from a previous methods instructor...busy, but life is good, my boyfriend is wonderful, I am getting to see those friends again that I talked about in a previous post, (you know, the ones that I felt I was drifting away from and I was upset) and I don't think I have ever been this content in my life.
However, I am going to Hell. I think I am okay with this.

It might be bad that I am not too concerned about this but let's face it: Heaven for the climate, Hell for the society. I also think Billy Joel's said it best when he sang, "I'd rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints, the sinners are much more fun".
Have you ever decided naming your unborn children would be a good idea? Apparently last night was a great time to do this, and I am not quite sure how this conversation got started, but Drake and I were talking, and one thing his family on his father's side has always done is named all the boys with D names (thus he is Daniel and his brother is Dane. Yeah, for those of you who don't know, 'Drake' is actually his middle name). The only problem with doing this 'D' thing is I decided long ago that my first child would either be Cameron David or Cameran Elizabeth, in honor of Cameron indoor Stadium (Go Duke!). Drake said if that is the case and I am naming a child after a building, he is naming our other children gas station, hospital and grocery store. Now that's just silly, at least Cameron is a real name. Well, we have finally come to an agreement. There are two D names we really liked for boys and he said if we at least name the first two with D names, then he would be okay with a Cameron for a boy. Now, all this nonsense could be avoided if we have a girl, who in turn would then be named Cameron and then if we had 8 boys, they all could start with D and that would be fine by me. Of course we have tons of time to figure all of this out, we're no where near having babies yet, and that won't happen for quite some time, but it was just something we were talking about and I think we have some good ones picked out. Now for those of you who have been jerks about this kind of stuff, it's not your life and it's not your decision, so back off.

Names...Continued
Okay, it is really early on a Saturday and I drank a lot last night so I am not sure exactly why I am awake, but I am so I thought I might as well finish this list. Now, there are some names that I absolutely think are disgusting or are just not me and am thankful Mom did not go with any of those names for me:
Kelly/ey/ie/ee - I've known a Kelley and a Kellie. Both were heinous bitches and I was glad when they both moved away and went to different middle and high schools. I'm sure they both have at least 8 kids a piece by now.
Suzanne - It just sounds weird to me, I think it is the Z. I don't think I would like to have a Z sound in my name, unless it is Isabelle, in which case the Z can also be softened to sound more like the S anyway.
Delilah - I used to like this name until I started listening to the radio and randomly come across this crazy DJ who has one of the most annoying radio voices ever and gives really bad and lame advice and plays lame or inappropriate songs when people call in with problems. (Lila, on the other hand, is an okay name that I wouldn't mind as much.)
I don't really have a lot of names I don't like, these are just the ones that stand out for me. Thanks again Amanda :)

Names
This post comes about as I am at work tonight, and also a little later I will get into something I found in Amanda's blog from Sunday. First from work: this girl was taking a test and her first and last name rhyme. Christina Molina. How horrible. Why would you do that to your child? That is one of the silliest things I have ever heard, I bet she was teased in school and teachers would chuckle when they did roll call at the beginning of each school year. Wow, it's just silly.
On that note, I have always been against rhyming the names of twins like 'Kyle' and 'Lyle', or naming them similar things like 'Tammy' and 'Timmy'. I think it is silly and can be confusing, especially for young children. Plus, when they grow older it can be embarrassing even. I am also not a big fan of naming sons after their fathers. I know it is part of honoring your family, but here is a story about Juniors for you that hopefully makes you change your mind if you like Juniors: Tom and Lisa named their first son Tom Jr. When he was younger it worked out fine because they were called 'Tom' and 'Tommy'. But eventually Tommy thought that sounded too babyish and wanted to be called 'Tom' also. Then they went with 'Big Tom' and 'Little Tom' until Little Tom got bigger than Big Tom. After that it was 'Old Tom' and 'Young Tom' which Old Tom didn't like because he was only in his mid-forties at the time. It didn't help that they sounded similar so telling them apart on the phone was ridiculously difficult. Basically, don't name your kids after their fathers unless there is a distinct name you can call them for short in stead of going the 'Tom' and 'Tommy' route. For instance, my first son will be named Cameron David, but not David Cameron. (The 'David' is in honor of my grandfather who everyone knows is one of the most important figures in my life, not for Teetz, as some of you would assume.) Also, for those of you completely out of the loop, 'Cameron' comes from 'Cameron Indoor Stadium' where the greatest college basketball team in the country plays - the Duke Blue Devils. I would give birth to my babies at CIS if I could, but I don't think Coach K would like that much when his team is trying to practice. I really always love the name Cameron, I think it is a good, strong name and really can be used for a boy or a girl, however if I only ever have a girl, I would change it to 'Cameran' so it is more girlish. I don't think Coach K would mind that too much at all.
Now, I also mentioned something I found in Amanda's blog that I thought was interesting. A couple days ago she did a post on names she wouldn't mind being called and this was really interesting to me because there are some names that I am really in love with that I also wouldn't mind being called. Then there are some I absolutely think are disgusting and would scratch out eyes if anyone called me by them.
Ok, total sidenote, but hey, I have ADHD: I have been working on this post since 5:15, but today is the pull date for Psych 181's first exam (one part Essay, one part Multiple Choice). These dumb kids all had the same bright idea: we should all wait til the very last day and then try to do both in an hour because no one else will have the same bright idea. Moral of the story: Psych 181 kids are dumb.
Back to names now, as it is 7:45 now. Thanks again for the idea, Amanda :)
Names I wouldn't mind being called:
Sarah - Of course! I love my name, it means princess and I think I earned it.
Magdelena, or Magdalene - A lot of people don't know, but this was the other possibility for me, but Mom said she took one look at me and knew I was a princess, thus she opted for Sarah instead.
Olivia - I am not sure why, but I love this name. I think it is classic without being old. Plus, there are fewer Olivias out there than Sarahs and it is more unique.
Genevieve - Again, this name is classic without making me sound like an old lady. Not that old is bad, I am just not old yet.
Isabelle - I have a thing for unique/uncommon names. But it is so pretty, Plus, Belle from 'Beauty and the Beast' was awesome and Belle or Bella would be an okay nickname.
Okay, we're closing now so I will have to continue this tomorrow...
